Company Profile

Natural light, fresh air and a sense of space are all features that make modern buildings comfortable to live and work in.

At Breezway, we specialise in producing top quality, innovative louvre window systems that help to bring these important attributes to buildings to reduce the need for artificial lighting and heating or cooling systems.

Breezway Today:
Today, Breezway is at the forefront of louvre window technology and design with a constant stream of product improvements flowing from our Brisbane-based R&D Centre. Breezway Altair Louvre Windows are energy rated, wind and water rated up to cyclonic conditions, have the widest choice of customising options and can be automated with concealed motors and remote controls.

To ensure great customer service, Breezway maintains a direct presence in Brisbane, Perth, Darwin, Townsville, Sydney, Melbourne, Hawaii and Malaysia. Some of these local offices hold stock and have some manufacturing capabilities.

Brisbane remains the primary manufacturing centre with custom-made orders manufactured on a 5 day lead time. The Brisbane manufacturing facility houses a customised glass louvre blade toughening plant that produces louvre blades that are flat to within 0.35mm per metre and a Powder Coating line certified by both Dulux and Akzo Nobel to apply warranty powder coats.

Technologies and Capabilities

Altair Powerlouvre Windows:
The low voltage Altair Powerlouvre Window has been designed to electronically manage cross ventilation and natural airflow into the home.

Displaying superior aesthetics with no visual indication of any motors or automated device, the Powerlouvre Window is compatible with wall switches right through to home automation systems to suit a range of budgets and control needs.

Available as a complete window system or in component form.

Altair Powerlouvre Windows are available in the Breezway Easyscreen and Innoscreen Window Systems. Delivered to site fully assembled, the Powerlouvre Window removes the complexity of sourcing special trades to install motors or program the system.

The Powerlouvre Window can also be made available in Component Form to approved Window Fabricators for installation into flat commercial frames or timber frames.

Operating Methods:

The Altair Powerlouvre Window can be controlled by Apptivate Control Units or a third party Building Management System.

The Powerlouvre Apptivate Control Unit:
   •  Operates your Powerlouvres with a touch sensitive wall switch.
   •  Single touch to fully open, fully close or can be precisely opened in any intermediate position to control airflow into the building.
   •  Automatic operation in response to an in-built temperature sensor or timers to maintain indoor comfort.
   •  Bluetooth Smart permits remote control by compatible smartphones and tablets.
   •  Single and dual channel models available to suit individual needs.

Company Background

Breezway has existed under various names and owners since the Second World War. We began manufacturing Louvre Windows around 1947 in Australia and by the mid-1960’s our louvres were being exported to over 65 countries. Over the years the company has manufactured a number of other products, however louvre windows have always been a key part of the business.
